Bierocks at Louie’s 10th Street Laundromat

Yesterday I stopped by Louie’s 10th St. Lounge & Laundromat and finally had my first bierock — and now I understand why it’s such a Kansas staple. A bierock is a soft homemade bread pocket filled with seasoned meat, cabbage, and spices, and this one was absolutely delicious.

The bread was incredibly soft, and dipping it in the spicy mustard, they can sell out, so definitely get there early if you want to experience one. They’re $8, and there’s a $1 charge if you get it to go. Great little lounge atmosphere, friendly service, and they offer other menu items as well. Anywhere I travel through Kansas, trying a bierock has become mandatory for me now — highly recommend. #topekafoodies #topekakansas #theridesharefoodie
